OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Eric Sultemeier drove in three runs, two in a five-run fourth inning that carried Texas to a 10-7 victory over Oklahoma State in the opening game of the Big 12 baseball tournament Wednesday.
The Longhorns (39-16) advance to play a winner's bracket game Thursday against Oklahoma or Texas A&M. Oklahoma State (34-23), fighting for a berth in the NCAA tournament, will play the Oklahoma-A&M loser in an elimination game Thursday morning.
Texas used four hits to score twice in the first inning off Scott Baker (10-5), but Oklahoma State tied it in the second inning. The score was 3-3 when the Longhorns put together their big fourth inning.
One run scored on a bunt, another on a double by Tim Moss, who also had three RBIs. Dustin Majewski had a run-scoring single before Sultemeier came through with a two-run single.
Oklahoma State scored three times in the fifth, including a two-run single by Scott Kirby, who had four hits and four RBIs. But three relievers combined to hold OSU to one hit in the final 2 2/3 innings.
Jesen Merle (3-2) got the victory and Huston Street pitched the final 1 2/3 innings for his ninth save.
