OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Six people have received the organs a 14-year-old barrel racer who died after being crushed by her horse.
Greg and Tammy Westermier said their daughter Amanda was generous and donating her organs was a positive way to deal with her death.
Amanda Westermier died April 24 from head injuries sustained during a rodeo accident.
``She was a very giving person, and I think that is what she would want,'' said Greg Westermier.
Amanda's organs went to five Oklahomans and a Texas man.
Ruby Rogers, 59, received a liver transplant. Dylon Holmes, 9, and a 68-year-old Lawton man, whose name was not released, received kidney transplants. A 40-year-old Texas man received her pancreas.
Diana Harris, 52, received Amanda's heart.
Emphysema sufferer Rogene Moreland, 65, received one of Amanda's lungs. Her other lung was unusable. Doctors believe it was damaged in the accident.
