Authorities believe a fisherman died after falling into a water treatment reservoir.
The 58-year-old man, whose identity was not released, was found in the water at the A.B. Jewel Water Treatment Plant Friday afternoon.
He was sitting on the edge of the reservoir with a fishing pole and cooler of beer when he fell down a sloping concrete wall into the water, Tulsa police said.
Investigators don't know if the man suffered a heart attack or lost consciousness before falling into the water or if alcohol consumption might have been a factor, Sgt. Jeff Davis said.
A woman walking her dog on a trail around the plant saw the man in the reservoir. She asked a group of fishermen nearby to call 911, Davis said.
They pulled the man's body out of the water and performed CPR on him, he said.
EMSA medics transported the man in critical condition to St. John Medical Center, where he died a short time later, police said.
