On the home front, local communities continue to support the troops. Collinsville hosted a parade to honor the American forces over the weekend.

On Saturday, the threat of rain didn't stop hundreds from coming out to the parade. Supporters of all kinds - even a few four-legged friends marched down main street. Many folks held signs and waved flags representing all branches of the military. One resident says events like this are very important - not only to the troops, but to the families waiting here at home. Sherri Rater's nephew, Private First Class John Paul Kelly, is a marine serving in Kuwait. "He called me a week ago from Kuwait. I spoke to him for a little while. He seemed fired up about it- hasn't been there very long, only two or three weeks now. I think it's important for a small towns across the country to show support troops and let them know how we feel."

The town of Collinsville says it supports those still serving overseas. One family actually got to welcome their injured loved one back home last week.
