The struggle to educate students with limited funds is even more difficult for one Osage County community.
Burglars have targeted schools in Hominy. Burglars broke into Hominy Schools three times in the past few months, smashing out windows and doors. Last week they made off with thousands of dollars worth of lap top computers.
Educators say all of that equipment will be nearly impossible to replace. Hominy Schools superintendent Melvina Prather, “Obviously we're a rural area we're a relatively small school but we have some very bright students, they're eager to learn, they're eager to be on top of the technology age and this is just gonna put them a step behind."
Investigators hope someone can help lead them to the burglars. Anyone with information may be eligible for a cash reward.
Call Hominy Police, or if you'd like to remain anonymous contact Osage County Crimestoppers at 1-800-635-8477.
