(Knoxville, Tennessee-AP) -- Pilot Travel Centers has completed its acquisition of 60 Williams TravelCenters, creating a 295-store operation in 37 states.
Tulsa-based Williams Company agreed in October to sell its network of travel centers for 190 million dollars cash as part of its effort to strengthen its finances.
Pilot Travel Centers will take over Williams' fuel inventory, merchandise and supplies at the stores.
The locations are in 15 states, mainly in the Midwest, Southeast and Southwest.
Work will begin immediately to change the name on the centers from Williams to Pilot Travel Centers.
Williams TravelCenters' corporate office in Nashville will be closed over the next two months. It employed 100 people.
