Tulsa homicide detectives are looking for a key witness in an unsolved murder.

Rickie Simmons was shot while he sat in his vehicle outside a west Tulsa apartment complex last week. Police say a woman, Dixie Haynes, was with Simmons up until an hour before he was killed. She said Simmons was helping her escape an abusive relationship.

Detectives and her family have not been able to contact her and need to talk to her, to make sure she's safe.
