(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma coach Kelvin Sampson says freshman De'Angelo Alexander will keep starting as long as he keeps playing well.
Alexander started Saturday in place of Ebi Ere when the Sooners played at Texas Tech.
He responded by scoring nine points as OU won 63-to-58.
Ere has struggled in recent weeks. Sampson says Ere knows that OU needs him to begin playing well again if the Sooners are going to reach their potential.
Oklahoma is preparing for Wednesday's home game against Oklahoma State.
