The town of Oologah is in mourning. This after 87-year-old Luther Butler was killed in Texas.
Butler was one of four elderly people shot to death in an apparent robbery and killing spree. He left his Oologah home on Monday headed for Brownsville Texas. Police say somewhere along the way, he was robbed and murdered.
His suspected killer is a 35-year old man just released from prison. The suspect was killed in a gun battle with police outside a Corpus Christi hotel. Butler's body was found there in the trunk of his car. A 15-year-old boy, also linked to the killings, is in custody.
FBI agents are now trying to determine if any more victims are out there. Back in Oologah, friends like Tuffy Brewer, says Butler will be greatly missed. "It'll be awful, a lot of people knew him and it's really gonna bother em, cuz he was a good guy. Really he was.â€
Friends say Butler was very active for his 87-years and was an avid fisherman.
