Making it to a state competition would be exciting enough for most high school athletes.
But for one Jenks athlete, it’s just another step on the path to greater things. Jenks Swimmer Lori Halvorson set the "national" high school record last week in the 500-meter freestyle.
She and her coach John Turner talked about the excitement of breaking the record on "Six in the Morningâ€. John Turner, Jenks swim coach, "Everybody was waiting, both schools, all the union kids were cheering for her everybody was pulling for one thing. I felt bad for the other people in that race.â€
Lori says she has her future sights set on the Olympics, but for now she's focusing on the two years she has left at Jenks.
