A Muskogee County couple is headed to court accused of videotaping their child beating one of his classmates.
Police arrested 35 year-old Sheila Chapman and her 39 year-old husband David Tuesday after Sheila turned over a disturbing tape to police. The tape was not released to the media, but the DA says it shows Chapman's 11 year-old son beating up an 11 year-old female classmate.
Sejin Brooks, Muskogee County District Attorney, "And it has the victim just punching as fast as he could to her head. You see the girl attempting to 'post up' and try to get up on all fours and stand up.†The girl is recovering from a broken arm.
Sheila Chapman told police she taped the fight so everyone would know she didn't hold the girl down while her son did this. The Chapman's son is now in protective custody.
Sheila faces aggravated assault and battery, and child abuse charges. Her husband faces child abuse charges for allowing the abuse to happen.
