WASHINGTON (AP) _ An Ohio company is recalling bottles of salad dressing mislabeled as ``Two-Lightful Blue Cheese'' dressing because inside is an anchovy-containing Caesar dressing _ posing a risk of life-threatening reactions to people allergic to the salty fish.
The salad dressing was sold in supermarkets nationwide. Recalled are 12-ounce bottles labeled as T. Marzetti Co.'s Two-Lightful Blue Cheese dressing that bear the UCP code 70200-51018, with an expiration date of 08/03/03W stamped on the glass.
The blue cheese dressing is not supposed to contain any fish. But because of a labeling mixup, the bottles actually contain Caesar salad dressing made with powdered anchovies, according to the company and the Food and Drug Administration.
Consumers allergic to the fish should not eat the recalled dressing but return it to the place of purchase for a refund. Consumers with questions may call T. Marzetti at 1-614-846-2232.
