Police in McAlester arrested a suspected bank robber, but he's not your typical crook.

Officers say a 71-year-old man with a cane went into the BancFirst branch, demanded money and threatened to blow the clerk's head off.

The clerk tripped a silent alarm while putting money in one bag but switched it with another and gave that one to the man.

Police arrested him as he was walking to his car. He didn't have a weapon but he does have previous robbery convictions in California.
