(Hallett-AP) -- A state audit says Hallett town officials violated the Open Meeting Act and overspent the town budget by almost $25,000.
State auditors examined records from July 1st, 1999, to June 30th, 2002, after residents raised questions.
The report says the north central Oklahoma town overspent its 2002 budget by $24,768.
Hallett Mayor John Patton has refused to comment on the audit.
The audit says town officials violated the Open Meeting Act by acting on items not posted on meeting agendas and not keeping complete minutes of meetings.
