Trees show renewal of life. And that's exactly what volunteers in Tulsa's ‘Up With Trees’ hope people think about when they drive by the state's September 11th Living Memorial.
The group installed a bronze sculpture at the site Thursday. It’s a creation of Tulsa sculptor Ed Smith, who donated it to the project. 86-trees join the sculpture, each representing a nation of the world that lost citizens in the September 11th attacks.
Up with Trees volunteer Jim Costas, "We who plant think of the future. And a memorial site always helps people remember the past and what has happened so that we appreciate what we have today."
An American flag will be added to the site next week.
