TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ The University of Tulsa will play Oklahoma and two other Big 12 Conference teams during the 2002 football season.

The Golden Hurricane opens with Oklahoma on Friday night, Aug. 30, and also will play Baylor and Kansas. The other non-conference game is against Arkansas State.

Tulsa opens Western Athletic Conference play against defending league champion Louisiana Tech on Sept. 14 on the road.

``We'll have a huge test early against Oklahoma, one of the teams that should definitely be considered a preseason favorite to win the national championship,'' coach Keith Burns said Monday. ``Our league schedule starts out with three of the best teams in the WAC, so we'll jump into the thick of the conference season right at the beginning.''

The schedule is as follows: Aug. 30 vs. Oklahoma; Sept. 7 at Arkansas State; Sept. 14 at Louisiana Tech; Sept. 21 at Baylor; Sept. 28 vs. Kansas; Oct. 12 vs. Boise State; Oct. 19 at Hawaii; Oct. 26 vs. Texas-El Paso; Nov. 2 vs. Rice; Nov. 9 at Fresno State; Nov. 16 vs. San Jose State; Nov. 23 at SMU.
