Wednesday, Muskogee High School students remembered a former student killed on September 11th.

Members of the Junior ROTC flew the American Flag at half-staff to remember Major Ron Milam. Milam was in the Pentagon when terrorists attacked the building.

The flag was taken down during a ceremony and given to Milam's mother, Effie Milam, who is a teacher at the school. Six months after the attack- Effie says the pain is still hard, but the support from the school's staff and students have helped her through it. "Very up and down, sad one day, tears today. Some days I do have joy. I enjoy working and teaching that keeps me going”

The flag will now be sent back to the Pentagon to be encased.
