BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) _ Some regulators in Canada and Europe have cleared plans by Phillips Petroleum Co. to merge with Conoco Inc.

Bartlesville-based Phillips announced Wednesday that the European Commission has completed its investigation of the merger and did not raise any competition concerns.

The company said the Canadian Commission of Competition also has cleared the merger, which is still subject to shareholder approval.
