A 4-year-old boy was killed Monday morning after falling off a backhoe in Jenks.

A man was using the backhoe to cut a swath on a hill fro his grandson to ride his dirt bike on. The boy was sitting on the fender of the backhoe and fell off when the grandfather was not looking.

When rescue crews arrived, part of their work was to console the man. Jenks Police officer Don Selle, "He was very distraught of course. Our firefighters got here first, our rescue personnel. They did what they could to comfort him, and then we got here, we had one of our officers escort him to his home, and we're seeing what we can do to make things a little more pleasant.â€

The boy's brother who was about the same age was there when the accident happened.
