Tis the season for filing those taxes. And for those us who need some assistance, there's help available.
Friday, Tulsa launched the largest free income tax assistance program ever. Sponsored by the Community Action Project and the IRS, the idea is to decrease poverty by increasing the participation in the IRS's earned income tax credit program.
Steven Dow with the Tulsa Community Action Project, "It's very important that people realize that money is there for the taking. If they don't ask for it properly, it's going to stay in Washington instead of coming back to Tulsa."
Here are the locations for free tax help. The Bank of Oklahoma on Pine and Lewis, Tulsa Federal Employees Credit Union on East 21st Street, and Restore Hope Ministries on West Charles Page Boulevard.
