WASHINGTON (AP) _ President Bush was looking for an overseas audience for his State of the Union address, making online translations available in Arabic, French, Spanish, Mandarin and Portuguese.
The translated texts were being posted on the State Department's Web site Tuesday.
Also reaching out to kids on the White House Web site, the president prepared a special ``State of the Union message'' to younger Americans: ``Work hard. Read. Make the right choices, and follow your dreams.''
Behind-the-scenes photos of Bush working on the speech, a first-ever live webcast of the address, and separate State of the Union trivia quizzes _ for children and adults _ were also posted on the White House Web site to celebrate Bush's first official State of the Union address.
A trivia sampling: For grown-ups, What state did George Washington welcome into the union during his first annual message in 1790? (North Carolina) For kids, Whose speech was the shortest? (Washington's, in 1790, at only 833 words.)
