Tulsa Police suspend an officer while they begin a criminal investigation into sexual misconduct.
News on Six reporter Emory Bryan says the investigation is just beginning; the victim was being interviewed police Friday afternoon. The woman told police an on duty officer came into her home early Friday morning and forced her to perform oral sex. The woman says she had encountered the officer Thursday evening when he responded to a domestic dispute in which she was involved. She says the officer later showed up at her house, alone, and that's when she says the sexual assault occurred.
The police department won't release the officer’s name, but say he is a young officer who has been on the force several years, who was working the night shift Thursday night. He has been suspended from duty.
The department predicts the criminal investigation will take several days - those findings will be sent to the district attorney's office. But regardless of the outcome of that investigation an internal affairs investigation will follow.
