Those sprinklers that help keep lawns lush and green in the summer may be causing dangerous driving in the winter.
Tulsa's Public Works Department officials say road crews have been busy sanding over several patches of ice across the city. They say the problem comes from sprinkler systems still working in the dead of winter.
Officials are concerned it could soon cause a major accident on the roads. Paul Strizek with Tulsa Public Works Department, "Typically what happens this time of year, some people have forgotten, people slip, vehicle accidents, etcetera."
The city is encouraging anyone who may still have the sprinkler systems turned on, to shut them off during the winter. Motorists are encouraged to keep up their guard while driving.
