A head on collision kills two people. The accident happened about 2 AM Monday on I-44 just west of 161st Street.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say the head on collision between the pick-up truck and a small car happened when one vehicle was going the wrong way.

OHP says the driver of the pickup truck was westbound in the eastbound lanes when the two vehicles collided. Both drivers were killed.

The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as 22-year-old Ryan Pruitt of Broken Arrow. The name of the driver of the car has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Both drivers were pinned in the wreckage for over an hour.

OHP is still investigating the accident.
