Tulsa Police shoot and kill a man outside a home in North Tulsa.

They were called to a neighborhood near Yale and Pine around 11:30 PM Wednesday because of reports of gunfire. Officers took a look around but didn't find anything.

Then shortly after midnight they got a second call to a home on North Vandalia. This time a man who was on the phone told a relative he was going outside to talk with officers. Captain Larry Kinney says the victim went out with a pistol in his hand. "Officers ordered him to drop the weapon, continued ordering him to drop the weapon, he refused. Uh, then about six minutes he raised the weapon, pointed at the officers, one officer fired 1 shot from a shotgun, the gentleman went down and was pronounced dead at the scene."

Detectives found bullet holes in the ceiling of the home, and shell casings outside. The man's name hasn't been released. Police are still investigating.
