(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa defensive end Drew McLaughlin has been named to the Verizon Academic All-American team.

McLaughlin is a first-team selection. He is T-U's fifth football player to earn Academic All-American honors.

McLaughlin has maintained a three-point-six-oh G-P-A in accounting. He's the only WAC student-athlete named to either the first or second-team.

McLaughlin was named second team All-WAC. He finished his senior season with 81 tackles, including 13 stops for minus 57 yards.

He also added a team-best five quarterback sacks for minus 27 yards.
