Some local kids went on a holiday "dream spree" Friday. Thanks to OSU Tulsa and Target.
80 students from Roosevelt Elementary and Academy Central were each given a gift card to buy presents for their loved ones. The students bought everything from jewelry to purses.
Organizers say it offers a way for children to learn the true meaning of the holidays. OSU-Tulsa Development Director Marlo Duffy, "The reason we've done this is so they can learn the spirit of giving during the holidays rather than just being a recipient of gifts."
Friday's shopping spree was made possible through the adopt-a-school program.
