Vice President Dick Cheney was in the Sooner state for a visit. Cheney attended a fundraising event for Congressman JC Watts in Oklahoma City.

The appearance fulfilled a longstanding commitment to Watts. Cheney has made few public appearances since the September 11th Attack on America.

The visit to Oklahoma City tied up traffic in the city for about 45 minutes Friday afternoon.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol shut down north- and southbound lanes of Interstate 35 and its junction with Interstate 40.

Some drivers crossed three lanes of traffic in an effort to get around the tie-up and others drove the wrong way on an on-ramp to get off the roadway.
