American Airlines employees are dipping into their wallets to show their American pride.

The company told its Tulsa staff there was no money in the budget to build a float for the city's Christmas parade this year. So, about 40 employees paid for and built the float themselves. The company credit union chipped in about $2,500.

The float's theme is "Proud to be American, Proud to Fly American." It will be part of the AEP Christmas Parade of Lights this Saturday.
