Quick reaction by some good Samaritans saved a man's home early Friday morning from fire. One of his vehicles parked near the house caught on fire, and it has officials investigating.
People getting ready for a flea market at Admiral and Mingo saw smoke coming from somewhere, and went to investigate. Floyd Hamilton, "We came over here looking around until we found it, and then we banged on the door and couldn't get nobody to answer so I went over there and banged on his door and got him to call the fire department."
The people in the home did finally wake up. They managed to move a couple of other vehicles parked nearby. The van was destroyed and the fire caused about a thousand dollars worth of damage to the home.
Officials say the fire is suspicious; the van hadn't been driven in about a year.
