Old man winter is just around the corner, and parents will be swaddling their little ones to keep them warm. Doctors at St Francis hospital say it's important to make sure your babies are bundled well for the winter months.
Newborns are especially susceptible to hypothermia and need extra attention when it's cold outside. Experts say babies have different needs than adults because of their physique. Dr. Al Eldemderdash: Neonatologist, "They have bigger heads relative to their body and they have more surface area that they can loose heat from."
The doctor suggests covering their heads, but not their face to keep warm. Also add extra layers to your babies’ extremities so that no hands or feet are exposed to the cold air.
