(Cupertino-AP) -- Apple Computer has issued a new version of its music jukebox software to fix a bug that wiped out data from the hard drives of some users.

An Apple spokeswoman says the bug has affected very few people.

The error in version two-point-oh of the iTunes program occurs when it is installed on systems that run Mac O-S X and have multiple hard drives or partitioned drives. The company says the problem is ``highly unlikely to affect most users.''

Still, the company ``strongly advises'' anyone who has downloaded the two-point-oh version of iTunes, including the beta version, to ``immediately remove the installer file from their system.''

The new iTunes 2.0.1 version, which corrects the problem, is now available for downloading.
