(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Bob Gilder survived the howling Oklahoma winds yesterday to win the Senior Tour Championship.
Gilder took advantage of consecutive two-stroke swings by the third round leader Bruce Lietzke to build a four-stroke lead, then held off a charge from Edmond's Doug Tewell.
Tewell, who lives just 15 miles from Gaillardia Golf and Country Club where the tournament was played, shot a 3-under 69 to get to 10-under.
Gilder held on through the back nine and his 1-over par left him at 11-under for the tourney. With the winds gusting between 25 and 30 miles per hour, only five sub-par rounds were posted in the final round.
