(Stillwater-AP) -- If Oklahoma State is going to improve, then quarterback Aso Pogi must as well. And the sooner the better.
Coach Les Miles says the Cowboys can't afford another sluggish performance by the offense if they hope to beat Northwestern State of Louisiana Saturday night.
The Division 1 AA Demons are 3-and-0 and beat TCU on the road last week.
The Cowboys were supposed to play Northern Arizona on September 15th, but that game was canceled due to the September 11th terrorist attacks. Oklahoma State is coming off a 21-to-7 loss at Texas A-M.
Pogi has completed 57 percent of his passes, but he has no touchdown throws. Miles says Pogi was too antsy in the pocket against A-M and that he hasn't thrown the ball with the same velocity he showed early in the year. He says Pogi needs to play relaxed.
