NBA star John Starks envisioned something special at Central High School when he broke ground on a new fitness and athletic center in April of 2000. Thursday, the $250,000 project was unveiled, and well worth the wait.

The John Starks-Callie West Center is also named for Starks' late grandmother, and offers the utmost in physical training equipment, and inspirational ideas from those close to the braves program. Starks now plays for the Utah Jazz.
