A reminder to those of you still wanting to donate to the American Red Cross. Financial donations are still being accepted at KOTV’s ‘Spirit Fence’ inside the Woodland Hills Mall. You can find it on the lower level in the center court by the fountain. The ‘Spirit Fence’ is also open at the Sutherlands off 161st Street and the BA.
We're told what victims could use most right now are cards and letters of kindness. So far, the partnership between KOTV and the American Red Cross has netted more than $170,000. About a half-million have been raised statewide, and national donations top the $100-million mark. Officials are still trying to determine the best use of that money, but here's an idea of how large sums like this have been spent.
Donations through the Red Cross for the Murrah Bombing disaster relief topped $11.5 million.
