OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The board that governs high school sports in Oklahoma wants the games to go on this week.

The board of the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association voted unanimously Wednesday to inform member schools that any decision on whether to cancel or postpone activities as a result of terrorist attacks in Washington and New York should be made at the local level.

But the OSSAA also said it felt the games should be played.

``In keeping with the stance taken by President Bush, the OSSAA feels the quickest way to heal from this tragedy is to move forward,'' the board said in a statement.

``With all sympathy and concern possible to the involved parties, we feel that terrorism cannot dictate our lives. Therefore, we do not recommend cancellation of any events unless the local school systems feel a need to do so.''

In remarks Wednesday, Bush said precautions should be taken to protect U.S. citizens. ``But we will not allow this enemy to win the war by changing our way of life or restricting our freedoms,'' he said.
