OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The man accused of killing two employees at a Del City motel was denied bail Monday in Oklahoma County District Court.
Donald Anthony Grant, 25, of Oklahoma City is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of robbery with a firearm.
Special District Judge Carol Hubbard ordered Grant to appear on the Sept. 25 preliminary announcement docket before Special District Judge Charles Humble.
Grant was returned Thursday to Oklahoma City from New York City after he waived extradition.
Grant was charged in the July 18 deaths of hotel manager Brenda McElyea, 28, and desk clerk Felecia Suzette Smith, 42. The women were found in separate rooms near the hotel lobby.
McElyea had been shot in the head. Smith died of multiple injuries, the state medical examiner said.
Grant's girlfriend, Shlonda Gatewood, allegedly told police Grant robbed the motel to get the money to post her bail. She also told police Grant said he left the gun behind a stack of coloring books at a nearby Family Dollar Store. The affidavit said a store clerk found the gun.
