Sacramento County Sheriff's Sgt. James Lewis said 27-year-old Nikolay Soltys was wanted in connection with the deaths of his wife, two elderly relatives and an infant boy Monday. In addition, a 9-year-old stabbing victim, a girl, was dead on arrival at the University of California-Davis Medical Center, said hospital spokeswoman Janet Dolan.
A 2-year-old child was missing, Lewis said.
The killings occurred in two locations in Sacracmento, North Highlands and Rancho Cordova.
Two elderly people and an infant were found dead at a home in this Sacramento neighborhood. "He's already gone on a rampage," Lewis said. "They're all related, family of some sort."
Authorities said the victims suffered some form of blunt trauma.
Soltys was spotted leaving both locations in a silver Nissan Altima, Lewis said.
Lewis said the family was made up of immigrants from Russia "or something like that. There has been something of a communications gap here."
