Smooth sailing with no toll gates Wednesday afternoon on the new Creek Turnpike extension.

Construction crews rolled away the barricades Wednesday afternoon on Highway 169 south. The new section of road connects highway 169 with 161st East Avenue in Broken Arrow - and has a toll of 55 cents.

The project will eventually connect the Turner Turnpike with the Muskogee Turnpike and Will Rogers Turnpike, creating a south loop around Broken Arrow.

The newly open section of the Creek will be toll free through Sunday.
