(Philadelphia-AP) -- An N-B-A source says Aaron McKie, the N-B-A's sixth man of the year, and the Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a seven-year deal worth up to 42 (m) million dollars.
Teams were permitted to begin negotiating with free agents July 1st, but cannot have them sign contracts until Wednesday.
The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Associated Press that McKie turned down at least two other offers to remain with Sixers. McKie's base salary totals 38 (m) million dollars with incentives that could bring it to 42 million.
McKie's deal includes an option for him to become a free agent after five years. Neither McKie nor his agent, Leon Rose, could be reached for comment. The Sixers haven't confirmed the deal.
McKie is a Philadelphia native who went to Temple University.
