OU Golfer Leads U.S. Public Links Championship

(San Antonio-AP) -- University of Oklahoma golfer Matt Cohn knocked the defending champion out of the U-S Public Links Championship.

Cohn beat D-J Trahan 2-up in the first round of match play competition yesterday.

Cohn closed out the match with an 18-foot birdie putt on the final hole to rally from a two-hole deficit with seven to play.

Edmond's Kyle Willmann lost his match and was eliminated.

The second and third rounds will be played today at Pecan Valley Golf Club in San Antonio.
