A Tulsa County grand jury convened to look into a high profile murder case returned no indictments Tuesday. That includes the death of Rachel Clayton.
Clayton, the 10-year-old Jenks girl, drowned in 1998. Her grandmother, Madge Colbert, gathered the signatures to assemble the grand jury and was in the audience as the findings were read. She hoped to hear an indictment handed down against Cheryl Doss, the mother of Rachel Clayton, but says she left the courtroom disappointed. “I have tried my best. I have not lost yet. I feel that I will get the strength to go on to see that one day Rachel's murderer is put behind bars. Whatever it takes."
The grand jury also declined indictments in 5 other wrongful death cases.
