(Buffalo-AP) -- The speculation over Dominik Hasek has finally ended. Late last night, the Buffalo Sabres traded the 36-year-old All-Star goalie to the Detroit Red Wings.
The Sabres get Vyacheslav (vyah-chih-SLAHV') Kozlof, a first-round draft pick next year and future considerations.
Hasek is a six-time winner of the Vezina Trophy for outstanding goalie in the N-H-L. The Sabres had until yesterday to pick up the one-year, nine (M) million-dollar option on his contract, trade him or lose him to unrestricted free agency.
The announcement ends almost two months of speculation involving Hasek. The goalie says he wants to play for at least one more year _ but only with a contender.
