A warning about an e-mail hoax. The Make-A-Wish Foundation raises money for children age 2 to 18 who are suffering from life threatening illnesses.

Haley Hubbard was featured in a KOTV story three years. She received a trip for her family to Hawaii after undergoing a bone marrow transplant. But the group says e-mail can take money away from people such as Haley. It claims that make a wish is helping a 44 year-old woman who's dying of cancer break a world record. It asks people to send a signed one-dollar bill.

Make-A-Wish says it's a hoax that hurts others. Patti Barker with Make-A-Wish: "The tragic thing is there are people out there who are experiencing horrible times and need help from good Samaritans and their friends and strangers and things like this make people cynical when they get a plea for real help."

Make-A-Wish says it never uses e-mail or the telephone to raise money, although it does send letters in the mail.
