(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says the Sooners' first practice in preparation for the Rose Bowl went well.

OU has been giving the younger players practice time until Thursday, when the starters began workouts to get ready for Washington State.

Stoops says the first-teamers looked good and he likes the way they practiced.

OU and Washington State meet in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day in Pasadena, California.
