Layoffs the past few months have been common at businesses around Green Country.
For the thousands of people without jobs, this is a frustrating time to be looking for work. John Stalcup has been looking for three years. He sends out 15 resumes each week, but still nothing. At age 61, Stalcup believes his age plays a role in his inability to find work.
His family helps keep him going. "The thing that keeps us going is we know we have the Lord and we know we're both trying and we love and respect each other."
Employment experts say the best thing you can do if you've been laid off is to network with as many people as possible.
In addition, stay positive especially during job interviews.
