(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A University of Oklahoma writing student and a University of Tulsa political science student are the state's Rhodes Scholar nominees.

OU senior Tara Stine is an English writing major. Stine attended Midwest City High School.

Tulsa senior Justin Jacobs is majoring in political science, classics and economics. He attended Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa.

If selected, the students would study in Oxford, England.

Sixteen students were interviewed by the Oklahoma Rhodes Scholar Selection Committee. The nominees now go onto regional competition.
