(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A Kentucky-bred colt is the winner of the $75,000 MEC Mile race for two-year-olds at Remington Park in Oklahoma City.

Shawklit Man covered the mile in just under a minute-40, beating Skamper by three-and-a-half lengths and Kickin Kountry by five-and-a-half.

The 9-to-5 second choice in the wagering, Shawklit Man paid five-60 to win, three-40 to place and two-80 to show.

The Thoroughbred Meeting resumes Friday night.
