The fair is over, but there's still a lot of activity in the works at the Tulsa County Fairgrounds. And you'll notice a big change when you go to the fair next year.
The trade center at Expo Square is coming down. It will be traded for about 30,000 to 40,000 square feet of green space. Fairground officials say they're going for a park-like atmosphere.
Denny Tuttle, Expo Square president, "Y'know in the past Expo Square has been made up of asphalt and security fences around the grounds. So were tryin' to change that image with nice landscaping and areas that people can sit down and relax and enjoy themselves throughout the fair." Tuttle says there will be many, year-round uses for the green space. But it will be a new attraction for prime time during the state fair.
The transformation should be finished by August of next year.
